Phu Quoc Island

Why is Phu Quoc Island?

First, we researched countries around Thailand, looking for a place not too far away that offered visa free entry for Thai and Slovak citizenship, was a good place to stay, and wasn’t expensive. We found Phu Quoc Island to be very interesting. We love nature, especially the sea and mountains, and prefer not to stay in a busy city.

phú Quoc Island, often referred to as the “Pearl Island or Coconut Island” is the largest island in Vietnam and a part of Kiên Giang Province. Located in the Gulf of Thailand. The island is known for its natural beauty and diverse marine life. The island’s economy is also famous for its production of high-quality fish sauce, black pepper, and pearls.

Experince at Phu Quoc International Airport

The view from the airplane window revealed the crystal-clear ocean surrounding the island, which was lush and green with natural beauty. After landing, we arrived at Phu Quoc International Airport and had to wait in a pretty long line at immigration, with no free WiFi available.

  • Tip: I recommend preparing for the lack of free WiFi at the airport by ensuring you have internet access for at least the first day. You can do this by arranging for a temporary WiFi plan or eSIM in advance.

About an hour later, we finally completed the immigration process. I was really hungry, so the first meal I had in Phu Quoc was a bowl of Vietnamese pho at a restaurant in the airport. It was delicious!

Nhat Huy Bungalow

After feeling refreshed, we called a Phu Quoc taxi to take us to Phu Quoc Nhat Huy Bungalow. The ride took about 10 minutes. The bungalow is located in the center of Phu Quoc Island, not far from the main road. The place looks cozy, with a small swimming pool right in front of our room. We stayed on the 2nd floor, and you can see what it looks like in our video.

After checking in at the Phu Quoc bungalow, we walked around the area. We visited HUONG DAO because we had found good reviews on Google. However, we soon realized it was a bit pricey, but it was still worth a visit.

So, We also discovered a fruits vendor near our accommodation who offered fresh, reasonably priced fruits. It’s a great place to get quality produce from local people. Lastly, we highly recommend trying Taco Leo restaurant on the island. They serve fantastic Mexican food near me, and it quickly became one of our top choices while staying here.
