What is Talu Cave Koh Si Chang?
Talu Cave is a natural cave located on the southern headland of Koh Si Chang Island, Chonburi Province, Thailand, not far from Pattaya. In Thai, the place is called Tham Chakraphong and the wider headland is known as Laem Chakrabongse. You may also see it written as Tham Talu or just “the cave” in local guides they are all the same place.
What makes this spot special is that the cave literally passes through the limestone rock from one side to the other. “Talu” in Thai means “to pierce through” and that describes it perfectly. Once you walk inside, you can see daylight from the other end, and when you climb out to the top, the view over the sea is something you will not forget easily.
This place is considered an unseen attraction on Koh Si Chang. Most tourists who visit the island never make it here. That is also what makes it worth visiting.
Talu Cave Ko Sichang From Our Experience
For this article, we will talk about our experience once we went to visit Talu Cave on Koh Si Chang. We rented a scooter at the pier and rode to the southern part of the island.
Once we arrived at Laem Chakrabongse, the first thing we noticed is that the entrance to the cave has changed from what you see in older photos. Tourism has left its mark here the area has been developed a little, and some new structures have appeared near the cave mouth. Whether that is a good thing or not is something you can judge for yourself in our video below.
We went inside and walked the full cave from one end to the other. The inside is dark in some sections so we recommend you bring a flashlight or use your phone torch. The cave ceiling is high enough to walk comfortably in most parts, but there are some sections where you need to watch your step carefully the rock surfaces are uneven and can be slippery.
The most exciting part for us was when we discovered areas that are not found on any map. We climbed out from the cave at the top and looked down at the area from above. The view from up there the sea, the rocks, the coastline is absolutely stunning. Please be aware that some of these areas are not officially marked as tourist paths, so enter with caution and always watch your footing.

Is There an Entry Fee for Talu Cave Koh Si Chang?
This is a common question. From our experience, there is no official entry fee to visit Talu Cave at Koh Si Chang . So, we can go to check and walk around for free. However, if you arrive by scooter or car, you may need to park nearby and walk the final part on foot.
How to Get to Talu Cave Koh Si Chang?
Step 1 There is a ferry boat departing Koh Loi Pier (in Sri Racha) to Ko Si Chang again today, so if you want to take the ferry, it’s possible to do so. Also, you can hire a Skylab the local 3-wheel open-air taxi and ask the driver to take you to Laem Chakrabongse.
Step 3 Find the cave entrance Ride toward the southern part of the island. The road leads down toward the headland. Follow the signs for Laem Chakrabongse. Once you park, walk the short path down to the cave entrance.
Talu Cave Opening Hours
From our experience, the cave area is accessible during daylight hours. We recommend visiting in the morning or early afternoon so you have enough light, both for safety inside the cave and for the view from the top.

- Avoid: visiting alone or in the dark
What to Bring to Talu Cave
