Mae Kuang Dam Viewpoint Chiang Mai – Peaceful Escape with Beautiful Drone Views
During our recent trip to Chiang Mai, we had the chance to visit the Mae Kuang Dam Viewpoint — and we’re so glad we did! It’s a quiet, relaxing place with fresh air, stunning views, and the perfect spot for drone lovers. Of course, we brought our drone and captured the peaceful beauty from above.
A Calm Place Close to Nature
First of all, the Mae Kuang Dam Viewpoint is a great place to escape from the busy city. It’s only about a 40–45 minute drive from Chiang Mai, but it feels like a different world. Surrounded by green hills, a large dam, and calm water, the area is perfect for relaxing, taking photos, or just enjoying the view.
We arrived in the afternoon, and the sunlight made everything look even more beautiful. If you like nature, this is one of the best viewpoints in Chiang Mai to visit.
Flying Our Drone Over Mae Kuang Dam
After enjoying the view from the ground, we took out our DJI Mini drone. The sky was clear, the area was open, and the wind was gentle — ideal for flying.
Once we were in the air, the view was even more stunning. From above, you can see the full size of the Mae Kuang Dam, the deep blue water, green trees, and winding roads. Without a doubt, this is one of the best drone spots in Chiang Mai.
How to Get There
Getting to Mae Kuang Dam is quite easy. You can rent a motorbike or take a car from the city. There’s no entrance fee, and you can park right next to the viewpoint.
We recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon for the best light and fewer people.
