Sontra Marina Cafe Da Nang : Little Santorini Vietnam Review
We arrived at Sontra Marina around 7:30 in the morning. The sun was still low, the sea was calm, and there was almost no one there yet, just us, a few staff setting up tables, and the white and blue buildings glowing in the morning light. This blog provides a Sontra Marina Cafe review to give you more information and help you decide if it’s worth adding to your Da Nang trip.
Sontra Marina Cafe isn’t just a coffee shop. Tourists photograph it more than almost any other spot in Da Nang, and once you see it, you will understand why people call it “Little Santorini.”
What is Sontra Marina Cafe Da Nang (Little Santorini Da Nang)
Sontra Marina Cafe is a Mediterranean-style cafe and restaurant sitting right on the water at the base of Son Tra Peninsula, close to Son Tra Pier. White and sea-blue tones cover the whole place, with domes, arches, and balconies that copy the famous look of Santorini, Greece. You’ll find indoor seating, outdoor seating, and also a rooftop area on the second floor with unblocked sea views.
It is also close to the giant Lady Buddha statue, so many travelers combine both places in one trip.

For this article, we will talk about our experience once we went to visit Sontra Marina Cafe in Da Nang. We travel by Grab from the Da Nang Beach, and it took around 20-25 minutes to arrive. We went early in the morning, around 7:30 am, and at that time the place was almost empty, we basically had it to ourselves for photos.
Well, as I said, Sontra Marina isn’t just about the coffee. Every corner invites a photo, white walls, blue shutters, bougainvillea flowers, arched gates, and benches facing directly to the sea. Even walking from the entrance to our table felt like a photoshoot.
We ordered a set with a drink and a small pastry, and also tried their salted coffee. The coconut coffee is also popular here if you want to try something local. Prices are a bit higher than a normal Vietnamese cafe, but for the view and the photos, we think it is worth it once.

How to get there: The easiest way is to book a Grab car or taxi directly to Sontra Marina, it will drop you right at the entrance. If you already have a scooter, it is about 20-25 minutes from Da Nang city center, and less than 10 minutes from My Khe Beach.
Opening hours: Every day, 07:00 – 22:00
Price range: Around 55,000 – 99,000 VND per person for coffee and pastry sets. Some set menus with drink and cake cost around 99,000 VND.
Minimum order: Also you should know, there is a one-order minimum per person once you sit down. You cannot just walk in and take photos without ordering something.
Is there an entry fee?
No, there is no separate entry fee. You only need to pay for whatever you order, but as we said, every guest at the table needs to order at least one item.
Best time to visit
- Early morning (7:00 – 8:30 am): Best time for photos, few people, softer light, and not too hot yet.
- Midday: Can be very hot because most of the outdoor area does not have air conditioning.
- Evening when the sunset: Also beautiful, but expect more crowds, especially on weekends.
If you only have one chance, we recommend going right after opening.

- Lady Buddha Statue (Linh Ung Pagoda) less than 10 minutes away, easy to combine in the same trip
- Son Tra Peninsula (Monkey Mountain) scenic drive with viewpoints over the whole city
- My Khe Beach around 10 minutes away if you want to relax on the beach after
Is Sontra Marina Cafe worth it or a tourist trap?
Honestly, it depends what you want. If you go for the coffee alone, it is a bit overpriced compared to normal cafes in Da Nang. But if you go for the photos and the atmosphere, we think it is one of the best spots in the city for that, especially early morning when it is quiet. We would say it is worth a visit once, just don’t expect the cheapest coffee in town.
