Our Journey to the Highest Point of Koh Sichang

This article is about another exploration of Koh Sichang this time on foot.

After we finished our visit at San Chao Pho Khao Yai Shrine, we decided to continue our journey up to the temple view at the top. We saw the old staircase path and we decided to take it without really knowing what was waiting for us!

The old path was not like a normal walking trail. Not many people use this way anymore. It was full of trees and thorns. It was a real challenge! But we kept going because we love to explore.

When we finally arrived at the top, the man who sells items for praying at the Mondop Roi Phraphutthabat looked very surprised to see us. He said it is very rare to see people come up from that old staircase. Most tourists now use the new path.

But here is the interesting part that old staircase has a special history. The King once used these stairs to walk up to the temple. So even though it is overgrown now, it has a royal history behind it.

The old staircase has 500 steps up to the top.
