Best Time to Visit Walking Street Pattaya

Best days of the week: Thursday to Saturday are the busiest and most energetic nights. Sunday to Wednesday are quieter with better deals and less crowding, good if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.

Special events: During Songkran (Thai New Year) in April and New Year’s Eve, Walking Street hosts large celebrations with live stages, parades, and extended hours. From our experience, these nights are absolutely unforgettable, but expect very large crowds.

How to Get to

From central Pattaya or Jomtien: The easiest option is the baht bus (songthaew) the shared red pickup trucks that run along Pattaya Beach Road. Flag one down heading south along Pattaya Beach Road and ask for Walking Street. The fare is usually 10–20 THB per person.

Also you can order a Grab or Bolt car directly to the entrance of Walking Street. This is the most comfortable option especially late at night.

By car or scooter: Parking is available at the Bali Hai end of Walking Street near the pier. Keep in mind the road itself is closed from 19:00 so you will need to park and walk in.

From Jomtien Beach: Take a baht bus north along Jomtien Road toward South Pattaya. From there it is a short ride or walk to the Walking Street entrance. Also you can check our Pattaya Beach Guide for more transport tips around the city.

Our Experience

The first time we went to Walking Street, we walked from the Bali Hai Pier end toward Pattaya Beach Road around 20:00. The neon signs on both sides, the music coming from every direction, and the crowds of people from every country in the world it really is like nothing else.  From our experience, the side streets running off Walking Street are worth exploring some of the best bars and hidden spots are not on the main road.
