Yes, and we say this from personal experience. Pattaya has a reputation that scares some couples away before they even give it a chance. But beyond Walking Street Pattaya, there is a city with beautiful beaches, quiet islands, stunning sunset viewpoints, good food, and genuinely romantic spots. You need to know where to look.This guide is for couples, whether you are on a honeymoon, a first trip together, or just looking for a good date day in Pattaya. We will share what we have actually done and which places are worth your time.
1. Watch the sunset from Pattaya City View Point
This is one of the most underrated things to do as a couple in Pattaya. The Pattaya City View Point sits high above the city and gives you a panoramic view of the bay and the coastline. In the evening, the sky turns orange and pink over the water, it is genuinely beautiful.
It is free to visit, easy to reach by scooter or Grab, and almost always less crowded than you would expect. This is the kind of place where you can just sit, enjoy the view, and forget about the noise of the city below.
Best time to visit: Arrive about 30–45 minutes before sunset. The golden hour light is perfect for photos too.
2. Romantic Things to Spend a day on Koh Larn Island
Koh Larn is the best day trip you can do from Pattaya as a couple. The island has clear blue water, multiple beaches, and a completely different pace from the mainland. It takes about 30-45 minutes by ferry from Bali Hai Pier.

3. Romantic Things to Do in Pattaya: Visit The Sanctuary of Truth
The Sanctuary of Truth is one of the most impressive things you can experience in Pattaya, together or otherwise. This massive all-wooden temple took decades to build and is still being constructed today. The scale of it, the detailed carvings, the philosophy behind it, it creates a kind of quiet wonder that is hard to describe.
It is genuinely moving to walk through it together. There are also cultural shows, horse rides on the beach next to the temple, and a beautiful sea view. From our visit, we recommend going in the late afternoon when the light is softer and there are slightly fewer crowds.
4. Have a beach picnic in the evening at Jomtien
One of the most romantic and free things you can do in Pattaya as a couple is a simple evening beach picnic at Jomtien Beach. Bring a mat or a couple of folding chairs, pick up some snacks, cold drinks, or food from a nearby shop or the Jomtien Night Market, and just sit on the sand together as the sun goes down.
No reservation needed, no entry fee, no rush. The beach in the evening is calm and the crowd is much thinner than during the day. You can hear the waves, watch the lights of the city reflect on the water, and just enjoy each other’s company without any noise around you.
From our experience, this is the kind of evening that you remember more than any fancy restaurant. It is simple, it feels natural, and it costs almost nothing.
5. Spend a morning at Dongtan Beach or Wong Amat Beach
Both Dongtan Beach and Wong Amat Beach are significantly quieter than main Pattaya Beach and much better for a couple who wants to actually relax. No jet ski sellers every 5 minutes, no crowd chaos.
Dongtan in particular is known as a calm, clean beach. Go in the morning before it gets hot, rent two sun loungers, order something cold from one of the beach bars, and stay until noon. It is simple but it works perfectly.
6. Romantic Things to Do in Pattaya: Try a couples spa treatment
Pattaya has many good massage and spa options at all price ranges. For a real couples experience, look for a place that offers side-by-side treatment rooms. A Thai massage together for 300–400 THB each is one of the most affordable and genuinely relaxing experiences you can have as a couple in Southeast Asia.
We always recommend going to a proper air-conditioned spa (not just a street-front massage shop) for your first time together, the experience is much better.
7. Romantic Things to Do in Pattaya at Frost Magical Ice of Siam
This is also places to visit in pattaya for couples. The Frost Magical Ice of Siam is one of the most unusual date ideas in Pattaya. You put on winter coats they provide and walk through an entire world made of ice, sculptures, rooms, slides, glowing lights, in the middle of tropical Thailand. It is not the cheapest attraction, but it is memorable and completely different from anything else in the city.

The city has everything a couple needs. You just need to be a little intentional about where you spend your time.
